Utah Grizzlies News Release

In a Nutshell

The Grizzlies had their winning streak snapped at nine games Friday in Idaho. Utah is currently 11-5 on the season. The Grizzlies continue their seven-game road trip Tuesday in Alaska. Utah returns home December 10, to welcome San Diego to the E-Center.

Reimann to Cameron

Garett Cameron recorded his second game-winning goal of the year for the Grizzlies on Thursday. Both of his game-winning goals have been assisted by defenseman Tom Reimann.

Matt Craig and Three-Point Nights

Utah rookie Matt Craig (12 goals, 7 assists) is tied for the team lead with five multi-point games. That includes four three-point nights for the Utah center, with the latest being Thursday night versus Stockton.

Laux Holds at 7

James Laux tied a Utah season-high Friday in Idaho, extending his point streak to seven games. That streak ended Saturday night in Boise with the Utah blueliner being held off of the scoreboard. Jeff Miles also has had a seven-game point streak this year for the Grizzlies.

On top of the ECHL

James Laux is currently tied atop the league with six power-play goals and 13 power-play points. His 18 total points is tied atop league defensemen in scoring. Matt Craig currently leads league rookies with 12 goals.

For the Record

Friday night in Utah's 7-4 loss to Idaho, the Grizzlies outshot an opponent on the road for the first time this year, outshooting the Steelheads 41-31.

Turning 40

That 41 shot output was the third time this year the Grizzlies have recorded 40+ shots in a game. Oddly enough, two of Utah's five losses have come when they have registered 40+ shots.

Making Heads and Tails of This Past Weekend

In three games this Thanksgiving Weekend, the Grizzlies watched the opposition combine to score 16 goals in three games. Prior to Thursday, the Grizzlies had only allowed the opposition to reach three goals once in the last eight games. The Grizzlies won all eight of those games.

Struggling Shorthanded This Weekend

In three games, Stockton and Idaho combined to go 7 for 15 (46.6%) on the power-play versus the Grizzlies. Prior to Thursday, the Grizzlies had killed 43 of their last 46 (93.4%) shorthanded situations, in their previous eight games. The Grizzlies won all eight of those games.
