ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades finished up their busiest week of the season thus far with a 3-2-0 record and have won their last two games which puts their overall record at 9-5-0 (18 pts., T-2nd South Division).

Tuesday, November 29 at South Carolina Stingrays 7:05 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades take on the South Carolina Stingrays for the third of nine times on the season and the second of four at the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, SC. The Everblades lead the season series 2-0-0 after picking up wins of 5-4 (OT) at Germain Arena on Nov. 8 and 3-1 at the North Charleston Coliseum on Nov. 27. Last season the Everblades held a record of 2-2-1 vs. South Carolina including 2-0-1 in Charleston. The Stingrays enter this week's action with a record of 4-9-5 (13 pts., 7th South Division) and are 2-6-2 in their last ten games. Florida holds an all-time record of 29-14-8 vs. South Carolina.
Friday & Saturday, December 2 & 3 vs. Gwinnett Gladiators Both Games 7:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES: The Everblades host the Gwinnett Gladiators for the first of six times this season at Germain Arena. Overall the South Division rivals are meeting for the third of 11 times this year. The Gladiators lead the season series 2-0-0 after picking up wins of 5-2 and 3-1 at Gwinnett on Nov. 11 & 12. The Gladiators come into this week with a record of 8-3-2 (18 pts. T-2nd South Division) and are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games. The Everblades hold an all-time record of 4-7-3 vs. Gwinnett.
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Tuesday, November 22 at Greenville Grrrowl 3-1 Loss
The Everblades saw the Greenville Grrrowl score a pair of quick third period goals to pick up a 3-1 win and snap Florida's two-game winning streak. The Grrrowl opened the scoring just 5:08 into the game, however, the Everblades battled back to tie the game with a 5-on-3 power play goal by Ryan Brindley who extended his point scoring streak to six straight games. Tied 1-1 entering the third period, Greenville collected a pair of goals just 37 seconds apart to grab a 3-1 lead. Everblades goaltender Craig Kowalski (2-3-0) suffered the tough-luck loss despite stopping 36 of 39 Greenville shots, including turning away 22 of 24 shots in the third period. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-6; PK: 6-for-6.
Wednesday, November 23 at Columbia Inferno 3-0 Win
The Everblades picked up their first road win of the season with a 3-0 victory over the Columbia Inferno on Wednesday night at the Carolina Coliseum in Columbia, SC. The Everblads used a pair of goals by John Ronan and a shutout by goaltender Phil Osaer to earn their third game in their last four games. Ronan opened the scoring 6:07 into the game to give the âBlades a 1-0 lead which stood heading into the third period until Ronan gave Florida a 2-0 lead just 16 seconds into the final frame. Ernie Hartlieb then closed out the scoring with his sixth goal of the season at 17:53 of third period to seal the win. Osaer (5-1-0) earned his first shutout of the season and his fifth straight win in goal for the Everblades by stopping all 34 shots he faced. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-for-6; PK: 4-for-4.
Friday, November 25 at Charlotte Checkers 5-2 Loss
The Everblades dropped a 5-2 decision to the Charlotte Checkers on Friday night at Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte. The loss dropped the Everblades to 1-4-0 on the road this season. The Checkers scored the only goal in the first period, but the Everblades battled back to tie the game at one when Chris Lee banged home a rebound at 4:34 of the second period. The deadlock didn't last long however as the Checkers reeled off three straight goals in the remainder of the second period. The Everblades cut the Charlotte lead in half on Brandon Coalter's first goal of the season eight minutes into the third period, but the Checkers re-gained their three goal advantage at 12:22 of the final period. Everblades goalie Craig Kowalski suffered the loss in goal for the Everblades allowing five goals on 27 Charlotte shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 0-for-3; PK: 6-for-7.
Saturday, November 26 at Greenville Grrrowl 6-3 Win
The Everblades used five power play goals and a hat-trick by Ernie Hartlieb to boost them to a 6-3 victory over the Greenville Grrrowl on Saturday night. The five goals on the man-advantage matched an all-time Everblades high. The game started strong for the Grrrowl, who were looking for their sixth straight win, as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of first period goals. However the Everblades bounced back by taking advantage of their power play chances in the second period scoring three times with the man-advantage in the frame. Hartlieb got the Everblades on the scoreboard with his seventh goal of the year at 2:47 then later tied the game with his second power play goal of the night at 7:26. Florida took their first lead of the game when rookie Kevin Estrada notched his first professional goal at 15:58 of the middle period, but the lead was short lived as Greenville tied the game at three at 17:21. The Everblades however re-gained the lead with their third power play goal of the period as Paul Cabana tipped home a point shot late in the second period for a 4-3 lead. The Everblades finished off the scoring with a pair of late third period power play goals. Hartlieb completed the hat-trick with the Everblades holding a two-man advantage chipping home a shot at 18:55, then Jonathan Lehun scored an empty-net power play goal with 37 seconds left in the contest. Everblades goaltender Craig Kowalski picked up the win in goal for the Everblades stopping 19 of 22 shots to bring his record to 3-4-0. Florida Special Teams: PP: 5-for-12; PK: 4-for-5.
Sunday, November 27 at South Carolina Stingrays 3-1 Win The Everblades picked up their second straight win with a 3-1 victory over the South Carolina Stingrays on Sunday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum. The win improved the Everblades record to 2-0-0 vs. South Carolina this season. The Everblades jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with the combination of 13 saves by goaltender Craig Kowalski and an early and late goal. Dan Sisca started things off with an even strength goal just 1:12 into the game and Kevin Bergin added to the lead with a power play goal with just 46 seconds remaining in the frame. Florida extended their lead in the second period to 3-0 when John Ronan blasted a slap shot past Stingrays net-minder Davis Parley from the right circle at 9:21. Kowakski again came up big by making 16 saves in the period. South Carolina notched the only third period goal at 16:09. Kowalski won his second straight game by stopping 40 of 41 South Carolina shots to raise his record to 4-4-0. Parley suffered the loss for the Stingrays after allowing the three goals on 24 Florida shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-for-4; PK: 6-for-6.

Weekly Award Nominee: This week's Everblades ECHL Player of the Week nominee is forward Ernie Hartlieb who collected five points (4g, 1a) in Florida's five games. The 26-year-old native of Warren, Mich. picked up a hat-trick on Nov. 26 at Greenville and added and assist in that game. Hartlieb also picked up a goal on Nov. 23 at Columbia. Three of his four goals came on the power play. Everblades Special Teams Breakdown: After 14 games, here's a look at Florida's special teams breakdown heading into the week: The overall power play is ranked 16th (14-for-85, 16.5%). At home, the âBlades are ranked 22nd (11.4%) and on the road, Florida is ranked 8th (22.0%). The overall penalty kill is ranked 4th (70-for-81, 86.4%). At home, the Everblades are ranked 9th (84.8%) and on the road the team ranks 4th (88.6%).
League Leaders: Everblades forward Steve Saviano leads the league in both short-handed goals and short-handed points with three...goaltender Phil Osaer is ranked 12th with his 2.44 goals against average...the Everblades are tied with Augusta for the most goals in one period with 5 (Nov. 18 vs. CHR).
Record Setting Night: On Nov. 26 at Greenville the Everblades tied a franchise record with five power play goals against the Grrrowl and set a franchise record with 12 power play opportunities. The last time the Everblades scored five power play goals in one game was last season on Jan. 29 vs. Louisiana, and the previous high for power play chances in a game was 11, which happened three times, last on Nov. 28, 2003 at Roanoke.
Milestone Accomplishment: Everblades forward Paul Cabana notched his 100th career point on Nov. 26 at Greenville when he scored a goal in the second period of a 6-3 Florida win.
