Royals Notes:
- The three wins this week for the Royals extended the team's win streak to a season high seven games.
- The Royals' first two wins this week were at home, and Reading's record at the Sovereign Center remains unblemished at 7-0-0.
- Both games for the Royals this week are at home.
- Seven of the next nine games for the Royals are at the Sovereign Center.
- The Royals third game this week-on Saturday night-was on the road at Trenton's Sovereign Bank Arena, and Reading won by a score of 5-1.
- Saturday's win snapped a two-game road losing streak for Reading.
- The Royals win on Saturday was only the second time in two years (and nine games) that Reading has won in Trenton.
- The Royals allowed just three goals in the three games this past week.
- Over the course of the 14 games this season, Reading has allowed just 32 goals, a team goals against average of 2.29, which is tied for the second best in the league.
- The Royals scored a total of 13 goals in the three games this week.
- During the current seven game win streak, the Royals have scored a total of 37 goals, an average of 5.20 goals per game.
- Over the course of the 14 games this season, Reading has scored a total of 56 goals, an average of 4.00 goals per game, which ranks tied for third amongst the 25 teams in the ECHL.
- The Royals' 5-0 win on Tuesday marked the Royals' first shutout victory of the season.
- Cody Rudkowsky stopped all nineteen shots he faced against Trenton in the 5-0 win on Tuesday to pick up his first shutout of the season.
- Rudkowsky was also the goaltender of record in the Royals' 5-1 win over Trenton on Saturday night.
- Rudkowsky has a record of 8-1-0 for the Royals, and his eight wins is tied for the league lead in that category.
- Rudkowsky is currently riding a personal win streak of five consecutive games.
- Rudkowsky has an overall goals against average of 1.66, which is the second best in the league.
- Rudkowsky has an overall save percentage of .940, which ranks second in the league in that category.
- The only game this week that the Royals scored the first goal of the game was the 5-0 win on Tuesday. The Royals are 7-0-1 when scoring the game's first goal.
- Greg Hogeboom scored Reading's first goal in the 5-0 win on Tuesday at the 2:00 mark of the first period. Hogeboom also assisted on the second goal for the Royals on Tuesday.
- Hogeboom's goal on Tuesday proved to be the game winner-his first gwg of the season.
- Hogeboom also assisted on two goals in the Royals 3-2 win over Toledo on Friday night.
- Friday's game marked the fifth consecutive multi-point game for Hogeboom, a streak that ended on Saturday, when he "only" scored one goal-the team's first goal-in Reading's 5-1 win over Trenton.
- Over the course of the season, Hogeboom has had seven multi-point games in the thirteen that he has played for the team.
- Hogeboom is currently on a six game point streak, during which he has scored four goals and assisted on nine others.
- Hogeboom has had at least one point in nine of the thirteen games he has played for the Royals this season.
- Hogeboom is the leading scorer for the Royals with five goals and thirteen assists for eighteen points.
- Hogeboom's 18 points ranks fourteenth amongst the players in the ECHL and third amongst first year pros in the ECHL.
- Hogeboom's 13 assists leads all ECHL rookies in that category.
- The Royals' second and third goals-which were scored only 39 seconds apart (at 8:38 and 9:17 of the first period)-in Tuesday's 5-0 win were both scored by Mike Pandolfo.
- Pandolfo's first goal on Tuesday (the Royals' second) was scored while the team was on the power play, marking Pandolfo's team leading fourth power play goal of the season.
- Pandolfo also assisted on the Royals' fifth goal (by Mike Kompon) on Tuesday, marking his second three point performance of the season.
- For Pandolfo, Tuesday marked his third consecutive multi-point game; his fourth consecutive game in which he scored at least one goal; and his fifth consecutive game scoring at least one point.
- Pandolfo's scoring streaks are still in tact, as he was loaned to the Binghamton Senators of the AHL after Tuesday night's game; and he is still in Binghamton.
- Over the course of the season, Pandolfo has had five multi-point games in the twelve that he has played for the Royals.
- With Pandolfo's loan to the Binghamton Senators, eight different players who started the season with the Royals (and played at least one game for the team) have been called to the American Hockey League: Jeff State (Bridgeport Sound Tigers); Reagan Rome (Manchester Monarchs); Tyler Hanchuck (Manchester Monarchs); Rich Peverley (Milwaukee Admirals); John Morlang (Lowell Lock Monsters and Hershey Bears); Greg Hogeboom (Manchester Monarchs); and Yutaka Fukufuji (Manchester Monarchs).
- Two other players began the season in the Royals' training camp but were called to the AHL before playing a game for Reading: Brendan Bernakevitch (Manchester Monarchs) and Mark Ardelan (Manchester Monarchs).
- Two other players currently on the Royals roster have played AHL games this season: Barry Brust (Manchester Monarchs) and Chris Bala (Milwaukee Admirals and Hershey Bears), who was signed by the Royals in the off-season and loaned to Milwaukee before the season started.
- The Royals fourth goal on Tuesday night was scored by Malcolm MacMillan at the 19:09 mark of the second period.
- That MacMillan's first goal of the season with the Royals.
- Reading's fifth goal on Tuesday was scored by Mike Kompon at the 1:44 mark of the third period.
- Kompon also assisted on two other goals for the Royals on Tuesday, marking Kompon's first three point performance of the season for the Royals.
- Tuesday's game marked the third multi-point game in a row for Kompon, and the fifth consecutive game in which Kompon picked up at least one point. Tuesday's game also marked the sixth consecutive home game in which Kompon had picked up at least one point (i.e. every home game for the Royals to that point.) These streaks were snapped when Kompon was held scoreless in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Toledo Storm.
- Kompon also assisted on two goals in the Royals' 5-1 win over Trenton on Saturday night, marking Kompon's sixth multi-point game in the fourteen that he has played for the Royals.
- Kompon has had at least one point in ten of his 14 games for Reading this year.
- Over the course of the season, Kompon has scored six goals and added eleven assists (seventeen points), which is second on the Royals and tied for sixteenth in the league.
- The Royals first goal, which tied the game at one, in Friday night's 3-2 overtime win against Toledo was scored by Jon Francisco, while the Royals were on the power play at the 8:03 mark of the first period.
- Francisco also scored a power play goal for the Royals (the team's fourth goal of the game) in the 5-1 win over the Trenton Titans on Saturday, marking Francisco's fourth goal in his last six games.
- Francisco is currently on a six game point streak during which he has scored four goals and assisted on four others (eight points).
- T.J. Kemp scored the Royals' second goal on Friday night to tie the game at two at the 3:38 mark of the second period.
- Kemp also assisted on the Royals' game winner (scored 4:32 into overtime) on Friday night.
- Kemp also picked up two assists in Tuesday's 5-0 win over Trenton; and another assist in the 5-1 win over the Titans on Saturday.
- Kemp is currently on a team high seven game point streak, during which he has scored two goals and picked up twelve assists (fourteen points).
- Kemp's fourteen points is tied for seventh amongst first year pros and tied for fifth amongst defensemen in the ECHL.
- Kemp's twelve assists is tied for second amongst first year pros and tied for second amongst defensemen in the ECHL.
- John Morlang scored the game winner with 32 seconds left in overtime in Friday's 3-2 win over Toledo.
- That marked the second overtime victory of the season for the Royals; and both games were at the Sovereign Center. (The first was in the home opener, when Rich Peverley scored 2:27 into overtime to beat Trenton, 2-1).
- This goal marked the first game winning goal of the season for John Morlang.
- Morlang also scored the Royals' fifth goal in the 5-1 win over Trenton on Saturday night.
- Barry Brust picked up his first win this season for the Royals in his first start for the team on Friday night, stopping 30 of the 32 shots from the Toledo Storm he faced that night.
- In Saturday's 5-1 win over the Trenton Titans, Reagan Rome scored the second goal for the Royals 59 seconds into the second period. This was Rome's first goal of the season, and it turned out to be the game winner.
- In each of the three wins for the Royals this week, the game winning goal was scored by a different player (Tuesday: Greg Hogeboom; Friday: John Morlang; and Saturday: Reagan Rome).
- In fact, over the course of the current seven game win streak, the seven game winning goals for Reading have each been scored by a different player.
- In fact, over the course of this season, the Royals have now scored eleven game winning goals, and they have been scored by ten different players. (Mike Pandolfo is the only player to have scored more than one game winning goal-he has scored two gwgs.)
- Saturday's 5-1 win marked the fourth time this season that the Royals have scored five or more goals in a single game, and each of the goals were scored by a different player.
- In Saturday's game, the goal scorers were: Greg Hogeboom, Regan Rome, Chris Barr, Jon Francisco, and John Morlang.
- The Royals' third goal on Saturday night was scored by Chris Barr, marking his first goal as a professional.
- Barr's goal on Saturday was scored while goaltender Cody Rudkowsky was off the ice and the sixth attacker was on, during a delayed penalty. That is the first time this season that the Royals have scored a "sixth attacker" goal.
- Barr is the fifth Royals' player to score his first pro goal with the team this season.
- Barr leads the Royals in +/-, playing at a +11 on the season.
- The Royals scored three of their five goals on Saturday while the team was on the power play, marking the second time this season that the Royals have scored three power play goals in a single game.
- The Royals have scored fourteen power play goals in 41 chances over the course of the team's seven game win streak-a 34.1% scoring ratio.
- Over the course of the season, the Royals have scored 19 power play goals in 79 chances-a 24.1% scoring ratio, which ranks the team 3rd in the league in that category.
- The Royals blanked the Titans power play unit in the five chances that they had with the man advantage on Saturday night, marking the third time in the last four games, the Royals pk shutout the opposition.
- Over the course of the season, Reading has kept the opponent's pp off the board six times.
- The Royals pk has only allowed one goal in the last 24 power play chances for the opposition.
- Over the course of the season, the Royals have allowed ten power play goals in 83 chances, an 87.9% kill ratio, which ranks the team second in the league in that category.
