Trenton Devils News Release
TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans came out on top in two games during their toughest stretch of the season, a five-game, six-day schedule that alternated two games at home and three on the road.
Starting off the week against the Reading Royals at the Sovereign Center, the Titans allowed three first-period goals in an eventual 5-0 loss. Mike Pandolfo notched a power play goal and even-strength marker thirty-nine seconds apart in the first frame to break the game open for Reading.
The Titans got a chance to rebound the very next night at home versus the Johnstown Chiefs. Down 1-0 late in the second, Scott Bertoli potted a power play goal 3:17 before Scott May deposited the eventual game-winner. Rejean Beauchemin recorded his first ECHL win stopping 23 of 24 shots.
After Thanksgiving, Trenton traveled to Johnstown to do battle with the Chiefs. Five different players put the puck in the net for Johnstown as they ran away with a 5-1 win. Brian McConnell's first professional goal provided the only scoring for the Titans.
Trenton came back home looking for some redemption against the Royals on Saturday at Sovereign Bank Arena. Reading, however, was able to register three power play goals on Trenton's vaunted penalty kill en route to a 5-1 victory.
After riding the bus through night to face the Wheeling Nailers, the Titans were able to finish their weekend by defeating the Nailers 3-2. Vince Williams's first goal of the season proved to be the game-winner as Dustin Traylen notched the win in his first start for the Titans.
Trenton remains in fourth place in the North Division at 8-6-2.
The Titans return home for three-game, three-day weekend beginning with a match against the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, December 2. Trenton will then host the Dayton Bombers on Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4.
