Lynx players approved by USCIS

Augusta Lynx News Release


The Augusta Lynx announced today that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services has approved the cases of Nicholas Corbeil, Phil Cole, Ryan Lang, Martin Lapointe, Steve LeCuyer, Brian Passmore, Joe Pereira, Dan Sullivan and Doug Wright.

The team was advised by the USCIS late Monday that its petition has been approved for the above players, and pending proper documentation presented to league authorities, all nine will be eligible to play immediately.

The Lynx would like to thank the following authorities for their pivotal role in helping the team achieve a resolution to this matter: United States Senators Jim DeMint (SC), Saxby Chambliss (GA), Johnny Isakson (GA), and Lindsey Graham (SC); United States Representatives Charlie Norwood (GA) and J. Gresham Barrett (SC); and Governors Sonny Perdue (GA) and Mark Sanford (SC).

The Lynx will play Tuesday in Greenville against the Grrrowl, returning home Wednesday for a bout with the Pensacola Ice Pilots at 7:05 pm. The Classic Stucco and Stone Pre-Game Show kicks off one half-hour before game time on your Home for Lynx Hockey, NEWSTALKSPORTS 1630.
