Offensive Stone Assigned to Nailers

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers announce today that the Pittsburgh Penguins are reassigning center Ryan Stone from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Nailers and defenseman Andy Schneider from Wheeling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The announcement came from General Manager Craig Patrick.

Stone, 20, has 14 points (5+9) and a plus-7 rating in 18 games with the Penguins this season. He finished second in the Western Hockey League with 99 points (33+66) in 70 games last season, and was second in the WHL postseason with 27 points (4+23) in 24 contests.

Stone was originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft.

Schneider, 24, was assigned to Wheeling last week, and recorded one assist and an even rating in three games with the Nailers. The rookie from the University of North Dakota began the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording three assists, 14 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating in 10 games with the Penguins.

Schneider was originally drafted in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by Pittsburgh.
