Grizzlies Make Roster Moves

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies announced today that they have re-called goaltender Mike Smith from Lexington of the East Coast Hockey League and have released left wing Jay Banach.

Smith, 20, has played in two games with Lexington going 0-1-1 with a 2.41 goals against average. The Kingston, Ontario native was the Dallas Star's fifth round pick (161st overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Banach dressed in one of the Grizzlies' first four games recording two penalty minutes and no points.

Utah takes the ice on Wednesday night when they host the defending Calder Cup Champion Chicago Wolves. Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm at the E-Center.
