
Matile Activated, Thuss Released, Cava Placed on Injured Reserve

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves coach Bob Woods announced today goaltender Sean Matile (mah-TEEL) has been activated off the 7-day injured reserve, goaltender Chuck Thuss was released as emergency backup and defenseman Chris Cava (CAHV-ah) has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve.
Matile, 27, is expected to see his first action this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound goalie from Vernon, British Columbia was acquired on September 4, in a trade from Florida for cash.
Thuss, 30, did not appear in any games. The Sea Wolves all-time wins leader for goaltenders at 58, dressed as emergency backup goaltender on Saturday and Sunday.
Cava, 22, has picked up two assists in five games with Mississippi this season. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound native of Thunder Bay, Ontario also has 12 penalty minutes.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:05 p.m. on Friday at Baton Rouge. The broadcast will be delayed until after football coverage on Q 92.5 and across the internet.
Mississippi returns home for games Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Sea Wolves host Pensacola at 7:35 p.m.
On Sunday, Mississippi welcomes Baton Rouge to the Wolves Den. The opening faceoff is at 5:05 p.m. Following the game on Sunday, it's the annual Trick or Treat with the Sea Wolves. Yellow Book is supplying the bags, while the Booster Club is providing the candy! An adult purchasing an individual game ticket, receives one FREE ticket for a child 12 and under.
