AUGUSTA, GA - Augusta Lynx goaltender Geoffrey Faulkner was named the ECHL Goalie of the Week for October 14-20. Faulkner has become an excellent success story since coming to camp in early October as a free agent. He graduated from Division III Trinity College where he had an outstanding four year career including being named an All-NESCAC Team Selection in his senior season. Born in Westerville, Ohio, Faulkner began the season as an emergency back-up goaltender for Augusta when Phoenix Coyote prospect Colin Zulianello was sidelined with an injury. He was called upon in the Lynx first game of the season when starting netminder Josh Blackburn sprained his wrist, resulting in Faulkner's opportunity. Faulkner has since gone on to record a record of 3-0-0 in three starts, including a league best 1.19 goals against average and the leagues' second best save percentage of .960.

The Lynx play three games on the road this weekend beginning with a Thursday night affair in Columbia. Friday night has the Lynx in Charleston to face the Stingrays before a return trip to Columbia for Saturday night. The Lynx next home game is Friday November 9th versus the Charlotte Checkers. For ticket information contact the Lynx office at 706-724-4423.
