McNeil Named Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Louisiana left wing Shawn McNeil is the InGlasCo East Coast Hockey League Player of the Week for October 14-20.

The 24-year-old McNeil scored a pair of power-play goals in Louisiana¹s 4-2 win over Mississippi on Friday and scored two more goals, including the game winner, and had an assist in Saturday¹s 5-3 win against Baton Rouge. McNeil had his third straight two-goal game in Sunday¹s 5-3 win at Mississippi and finished the week with six goals and seven points in three games.

Selected in the third round (78th overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 1996 National Hockey League Entry Draft, McNeil leads the ECHL with six goals and is tied for the ECHL lead with three power-play goals. He leads the IceGators with eight points (6g-2a) in four games.
