Lexington, KY- The Lexington Men O' War hit the road for the first time last Friday. Lexington gained a point in Peoria on Friday losing in overtime 3-2. On Sunday, the MOW returned home to face the Toledo Storm. In their first ever visit to Rupp Arena, the Storm shutout the MOW 3-0. This week, Lexington plays three games in three nights starting Friday at Dayton. On Saturday, Lexington hosts Dayton. Richmond will visit Rupp Arena for the only time this season on Sunday.

Game #3, October 18th

Men O' War 2, Rivermen 3 OT

Peoria, IL- The Lexington Men O' War ventured 407 miles for their first road game in search of their first win of the season. Unfortunately the MOW did not find it in Carver Arena. Peoria forward Ryan Finnerty spoiled the debut of Men O' War goaltender Mike Smith scoring with just 31 seconds left in OT for the 3-2 Rivermen win. Despite taking the loss, Smith was brilliant in net stopping 43 shots in over 64 minutes of play. Kevin Knopp and Aaron Miscovich each scored for Lexington in the loss.

Game #4, October 20th

Men O' War 0, Storm 3

Lexington,KY-The MOW were shutout on Sunday night. The loss marks the second consecutive shutout loss for the MOW at Rupp Arena. Doug Teskey stopped all 24 MOW shots to earn the shutout. Erik Anderson scored in the first period. Jeff Mitchell added a second period goal, and Matt Ellis iced the game with a third period power play goal.

Movin' on Up...

The Men O' War experienced their third AHL re-call in a week as goaltender Mike Smith was called up to the Utah Grizzlies on Monday. The Worcester Ice Cats recalled Dan Murphy on Thursday night. Jeff Bateman was also re-called last week by the Utah Grizzlies.

Movin' on In

The MOW have added LW Jay Banach to their roster. The 6-foot-6, 230-pound winger made his debut on Sunday. Last season Banach split time between New Mexico and Wichita of the CHL. Justin Van Parys made his Lexington home debut on Sunday. He joined the team in Peoria for Friday's game. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound right wing spent last season in El Paso of the CHL.

Upcoming Games ......

The MOW will begin a new rivalry on Friday as they take on Northwest Division rivals, the Dayton Bombers. The Bombers return the favor on Saturday when they visit Rupp Arena for the first time. The Richmond Renegades will visit Rupp on Sunday. The game marks Richmond's only visit to Lexington this year.

The MOW have not scored in their last 140 minutes of play at Rupp Arena....Mike Smith stopped 77 of 83 shots (.928 save percentage) on the weekend...Captain Kevin Knopp scored his first Lexington goal on Friday.
