Bakersfield Condors News Release


Upcoming week of October 21st - October 27th:

· Tuesday, October 22nd - Join the Condors at the 12th Annual Bakersfield Business & Technology Expo from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The Expo will be held at the Bakersfield Convention Center located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue.

· Thursday, October 24th - Join Cal, the Baby Condor, Condors players Peter McRae and Denis Ladouceur, Condors staff, and the Condors Slapshot at the Condors "Carl's Jr. Care-a-Van" as it makes its fourth stop of its tour. This week the Care-a-Van will be joined by the Real Rock 104.3 crew and found at the Carl's Jr. located at 4520 Coffee Road from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Carl's Jr. will be handing out a coupon for a free Famous Star burger to the first 50 people to attend. Also, at each stop, by making a donation to Goodwill Industries, fans will receive a free terrace level ticket for a select Condors game this season.

· Thursday, October 24th - Join the Voice of the Condors, Kevin Bartl as he hosts the Condors Coach's Show on KGEO AM 1230 AM live from the Holiday Inn Select's Q Street Bistro from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Head Coach Paul Kelly, Kevin St. Pierre, and Jonathan Sorg will be guests on the show. The Holiday Inn Select is located at 801 Truxtun on the corner of Q Street and Truxtun.

· Saturday, October 26th - Cal, the Baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff will be at the Harvest Extravaganza Health Fair in Lamont from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. The Health Fair will be held at the Lamont Community Health Center site located at 8787 Hall Road in Lamont. There will be breast and prostate cancer screenings conducted by Clinica Sierra Vista, with funding from American Cancer Society.

· Saturday, October 26th - Cal, the Baby Condor, the Condors Slapshot, and Condors staff will be at the National Downs Society's Health Fair from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. The Health Fair will be held at Fairview Elementary School located at 425 E. Fairview Road. The event is to promote Downs Syndrome awareness and prevention.

· Saturday, October 26th - The entire Bakersfield Condors team will be stopping off at the Shriners Hospital in Los Angeles on their way to San Diego for this Sunday's game. The team will arrive at the hospital at 10:00 am and will visit with children in the hospital. Shriners Hospital is located at 3160 Geneva Street in Los Angeles.

Week in Review, October 14th - October 20th:

· Thursday, October 17th - Cal, the Baby Condor, Condors players Jason Jackman and Andre Allard, Condors staff, and the Condors Slapshot were at the Condors "Carl's Jr. Care-a-Van". The Care-a-Van was found at the Carl's Jr. on the corner of Auburn Street and Oswell Street.

· Friday, October 18th - Condors players Jordan Roach and Nate Anderson visited Columbia Elementary School to reward students for their academic achievements as part of the Condors Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge (THINK) program.

· This month's website auction will feature a new home Condors jersey signed by the entire 2002-2003 team. Log onto www.bakersfieldcondors.com to place you did. Proceeds go to benefit the American Red Cross – Kern County Chapter.
