Give the Man a Hat: Jeff Campbell recorded his first professional hat trick in Friday's 6-4 win over the South Carolina Stingrays. Campbell's three goals in Friday's game is the second hat trick of the season for the Gladiators. Brett Engelhardt scored the first Gladiators hat trick of the season, also against the Stingrays, in an 8-4 win on Nov 25th.

Down but Not Out! The Gladiators recorded their second straight come from behind victory Friday night as they beat the South Carolina Stingrays. The Gladiators fell behind 2-0 midway through the second period but battled back to post a 6-4 win. Pee Dee held a 3-0 lead over the Gladiators on Tuesday night before Gwinnett scored 4 unanswered goals, three in the final period, to knock off the Pride 4-3 at home. The Gladiators win on Tuesday was the first time in the history of the Gladiators that they overcame a 3-goal deficit to win.

Count ‘em on Your Fingers: Jeff Campbell recorded 5 points in Friday's 6-4 win over the South Carolina Stingrays. His 5 points in one contest sets a new individual team season high for the Gladiators. Campbell recorded a hat trick for the Gladiators and added two more assists for Gwinnett in the win.

Leader of the Pack: Kris Goodjohn recorded a team season high 4 assists in the Gladiators 6-4 win over the South Carolina Stingrays Friday night. With the 4 helpers, Goodjohn set a new career high for assists in a game breaking his previous career high of 3 assists posted twice back on November 25th and 26th. Goodjohn continues to lead the Gladiators in assists with 34 on the season.

Three is a Crowd: Chris Durno has now made it a crowd becoming the third Gladiator to post three game winning goals on the season as he recorded the winner in Tuesday's 4-3 win over Pee Dee. With the goal, Durno now shares first in that category on the season with Adam Smyth and Cam Brown.

A Career High: Mike Vigilante posted two goals 58 seconds apart in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss against Pensacola. With the two goals, Vigilante has set a new career high for goals in a season with his 16th and 17th on the year. Vigilante's previous career high was 15 posted during his rookie campaign in 2001-02 with the Mobile Mysticks.

February 1st, Gladiators 4, Pee Dee 3 – W

Chris Durno scored the game winning goal with 1:40 left in the third period to cap a come-from-behind victory for the Gladiators over Pee Dee. The Pride opened up a 3-0 lead midway through the second period after leading 2-0 after the first. Kris Goodjohn's shorthanded goal from Joe Bourne got the Gladiators on the board in the second while defensemen Jim Jackson and Joe Bourne posted power play goals for the Gladiators to tie the game at three setting the stage for Durno. Adam Berkhoel made 23 saves to remain unbeaten with a 2-0-4 record this for Gwinnett.

February 4th, Gladiators 6, South Carolina 4 – W

Jeff Campbell recorded his first professional hat trick and the second hat trick of the season recording his 2nd and 3rd goals with less than 15 seconds left in the game. The Gladiators fell behind 2-0 before Mike Stathopoulos' power play goal got the Gladiators on the board. Campbell's first goal tied the game before Chris Durno gave the Gladiators their first lead of the game. South Carolina again tied the game up before Jim Jackson gave the Gladiators a 5-4 lead. The Stingrays again battled back before Campbell put the game away. Kris Goodjohn posted 4 assists in the win while Campbell finished with 5 points on the night.

February 5th, Pensacola 4, Gladiators 3 - SOL

Mike Vigilante scored the games first two goals 58 seconds apart, the first at the 6:54 mark of the first period. Pensacola answered with two goals in the second period to tie the game up at 2-2 with their second tally coming with 13 seconds left in the period. The Ice Pilots took a 3-2 lead early in the third before Brad Schell tied the game at 3-3, 3:43 into the final period. The Gladiators could only muster one goal in the shootout while Pensacola netted 3 for the win. Peter Flache posted two assists in the shootout loss for Gwinnett.

The Gladiators face the Charlotte Checkers for the first time this season in Charlotte. The Gladiators have split the first two meetings with each team picking up a win at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Charlotte has won just one game in their last four outings.

Saturday, February 12th, vs. Florida Everblades, 7:35 p.m. – wdun.com

The first 500 ladies through the door will receive a free carnation courtesy of Kabloom. The Gladiators are 1-2-1 this season against the Everblades picking up the only win of the season in a shootout on January 21st in Florida. The Everblades have outscored the Gladiators 17-12 in the four meetings combined.
