
Gators Add Two Blueliners

Lafayette, LA â Todd Gordon, the Louisiana IceGators Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations, today announced the team has acquired defensemen Paul Lynch and Joe Dustin from the Charlotte Checkers in return for future considerations.
Lynch is playing in his first professional season after finishing his career in 2003 at the University of Maine .The 6'4" 200lb native of Peabody, MA., began his season with the Johnstown Chiefs scoring one assist in 14 games. After being acquired by the Checkers, Lynch added five more assists in 24 games. For the season, the defenseman has 44 PIMs and a +/- rating of -3.
Dustin is a 25 year old defenseman from Vadnais Heights, MN. In 15 games with Charlotte, Dustin had 3 points (1-2-3), 8 PIMs, and a +/- rating of -2. The University of Wisconsin River Falls graduate began his season with the Fayetteville Fire Ants of the SPHL.
"It's no secret that we have needed stay at home defensemen for a while," said Gordon " By adding these two players along with Dave McCulloch from Gwinnett, I believe we have solidified our blue line and made us a better hockey team."
The three new blueliners will make their IceGators debut this Friday night when Louisiana travels to the South Carolina state capital to take on the Columbia Inferno at 6:30cst.
Individual game tickets for all regular season home games are on sale now. The Gators next home game is on Friday night, February 18, when the team hosts the Texas Wildcatters.
