
Mississippi Wraps Up Week On Winning Track

BILOXI, Miss. â The third time was a charm for the Mississippi Sea Wolves last week registering a win in the third and final game of the week to post a 1-2-0 record over the last seven days.
On Tuesday, Texas topped Mississippi 5-3 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Pensacola downed the Sea Wolves 4-1 on Friday at the Wolves Den before Mississippi edged Texas on Saturday at Ford Arena in Beaumont 3-2.
After 41-of-72 games, the Sea Wolves have compiled a 22-16-3 overall record for 47 points.
Mississippi is in fourth place in the ECHL South Division and rank seventh in the 12-team American Conference, where the top eight teams make the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The Sea Wolves are 11-10-1 at home, 11-6-2 on the road, 2-2 in overtime games and 3-1 in shootouts.

Wildcatters 5, Sea Wolves 3 â Loss
* Texas scored four goals in the third period.
* Wildcatters goal scorers were John Snowden with a pair, Kevin Cooper, Rob Globke and Kamil Kreps.
* Mississippi's John Evangelista scored two goals and added an assist, while Mike Jarmuth tallied the other Sea Wolves marker.
* Mississippi goaltender Matt Underhill stopped 20-of-25 shots to suffer the setback.
* Texas netminder Davis Parley made 33 saves to collect the victory

Ice Pilots 4, Sea Wolves 1 â Loss
* Pensacola won its seventh game in a row.
* Ice Pilots goal scorers were Jordan Krestanovich with two, Jason Beckett and Dwayne Hay.
* Mississippi's Anthony Battaglia scored a power-play goal.
* Sea Wolves goaltender Jason Wolfe stopped 23 shots in the loss.
* Mississippi tied its season-high with 54 shots on net.
* Pensacola goalie Frederic Cloutier turned aside 53-of-54 to backstop the Ice Pilots to victory.

Sea Wolves 3, Wildcatters 2 â Win
* Mississippi goaltender Phil Sauve made his Sea Wolves debut and stopped 42-of-44 shots to register the win.
* Sea Wolves picked up two goals from Travis Lisabeth and a single tally from Anthony Battaglia.
* Texas collected markers off the sticks of Ryan Fultz and Kevin Cooper, who notched a shorthand goal.
* Wildcatters netminder Phil Osaer stopped 40 shots only to suffer the setback.

* Second of five head-to-head contests this season and second of three at Florida.
* Florida won the opener of the season series 6-3 on October 29 at Germain Arena. Everblades' Damian Surma led the way offensively with three goals and an assist.
* Mississippi dropped two preseason games at Florida, falling 5-4 on October 15 and 2-0 on October 16.
* Sea Wolves right wing Jay Legault and left wing Anthony Battaglia go up against their former team. Legault played with Florida last year helping the Everblades to the Kelly Cup Finals. PLAYER OF THE WEEK â Left wing Anthony Battaglia netted goals in two consecutive games to complete the week, scoring Mississippi's lone goal on Friday against Pensacola and tallying the opening goal on Saturday at Texas. The 6-foot and 195-pound Battaglia has 14 goals, 30 points, a plus/minus of +5 and 26 penalty minutes in 40 games. The 25-year-old leads Mississippi with three shorthand goals. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Battaglia is in his third professional season and second year with Mississippi.
GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK â Phil Sauve made his Mississippi debut a successful one by turning aside 42-of-44 shots in a 3-2 victory at Texas on Saturday. The 24-year-old Sauve signed as a free agent on January 26. In 2003-04, the 6-foot and 195-pound Sauve appeared in 17 games with the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League and finished up the campaign with the American Hockey League Hershey Bears. A native of Montreal, Quebec, Sauve, who was born in Buffalo, New York is in his fifth professional hockey season.
