Rivermen to Visit OSF Child Life Department on Tuesday, February 8

Peoria, Ill. (February 7, 2005) – Team Captain Trevor Baker of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that the team will visit the Child Life Department of Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF-St. Francis Medical Center on Tuesday, February 8.

The entire Rivermen team and coaching staff will interact with and sign autographs for the pediatric patients on these three occasions. In addition, the Rivermen will help the pediatric patients create Valentine's in the Child Life Department Activities Room as they did last year.

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – The Premier "AA" Hockey League. On Friday, February 11, the Rivermen host the Dayton Bombers at 7:30 p.m. at Carver Arena. It's the Third Annual Potter & Anderson Jewelers "Wedding on Ice." Five Peoria-area couples will get married on Carver Arena ice. The team will wear special Valentine's Day-themed jerseys to be auctioned immediately following the game with the proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois – Peoria Office. On Sunday, February 13, Peoria hosts the rival Johnstown Chiefs for the first time this season. Game time is 3:00 p.m. at Carver Arena. It is the third of four Peoria Journal Star/Insight Media Family Days. Kids 12 & Under receive a $2 Upper Bowl admission, and there are $2.50 Kids Meals. Scooby Doo will appear courtesy of the Cartoon Network.
