'Gades Five Game Home Winning Streak on the Line Friday

Richmond Renegades News Release


The Richmond Renegades are 17-11 after going 0-1 last week. The ‘Gades are in third place in Northeast Division, four points behind first place Atlantic City. Richmond hosts Greensboro Friday and visits the Generals Saturday.

Friday, December 20 vs. Greensboro 7:35 PM

GAME NOTES: The third of eight meetings and the second of four here. ‘Gades are 2-0 vs. the Generals with a pair of 3-2 overtime wins. Jamie Herrington and Jon Zion have three points vs. Greensboro. No General has more than two points. Richmond is 3-11 on the power play vs. the Generals.

Saturday, December 21 @ Greensboro 7:30 PM

GAME NOTES: The fourth of eight meetings and the second of four here. Richmond won 3-2 in overtime at Greensboro in October. All three Renegades goals were on the power play. Richmond has lost three straight on the road.

Saturday, December 14 vs. Reading LOSS 5-2

GAME NOTES: The ‘Gades out-shot the Royals by 18 but allowed four goals in just over 14 minutes. Five Royals scored, led by Brad Rooney's goal and two assists. Richmond fired 39 shots but went 0-8 on the power play. Peter Hogan and Jamie Herrington scored for Richmond.

‘GADES NOTES: The Renegades have won five straight and 11 of their last 12 games at home. The Renegades have lost three straight on the road and have been outscored 14-2 in those three games. The ‘Gades did snap a streak of over 137 minutes without a goal on the road and a streak of over 190 minutes without an even strength goal on the road in their loss to Reading Saturday.

Richmond is 7-0 in ovetime/shootouts. Brad Church became the fourth ‘Gade to earn a call-up to the AHL. He is now with Cleveland. Jon Zion is on re-call to Cincinnati of the AHL. Nick Lent returned Saturday from a three game call-up to Portland of the AHL. Jayme Filipowicz is on loan to St. John of the AHL. Daivd Brosseau and Jonathan St. Louis have missed five straight games with injuries. The ‘Gades have played the last five contests short-benched due to call-ups and injuries. Milt Mastad returned from IR Saturday but did not play.

Marc Magliarditi now has 121 career wins. He is seventh in ECHL history, three behind Jeff Salajko. The ‘Gades are 17 for their last 19 on the penalty kill. The ‘Gades are 0 for their last 35 on the power play. Richmond has scored eight shorthanded goals.

Richmond has had 30+ shots on goal in four straight games. The 39 shots fired by Richmond Saturday is the most in a loss since March 20 of last season when the ‘Gades had 40 in a 2-1 loss to Augusta. The ‘Gades loss at Reading was their only game in a stretch of 11 days. Richmond has not lost back to back games since 11/8.

Gord will also visit with Sports Radio 910's Mike Maniscalco every Thursday at 6:05 PM. ‘Gades broadcaster John Emmett visits with Big Al each Friday at 7:50 AM.
