Sbrocca Recalled By Hershey

SAN DIEGO - Rookie left-winger Sandro Sbrocca has been called up to the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears, the West Coast Hockey League club announced today.

Sbrocca, 22, has played in 20 games for the Gulls this season, racking up five points (3g, 2a). He's also amassed 149 penalty minutes, second most in the WCHL. Sbrocca leads the league with 11 major penalties.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 225-pound native of Montreal began his professional career with the Gulls last season. In 45 career games, Sbrocca has posted nine points (4g, 5a) and 234 penalty minutes.

Sbrocca spent the preseason at Hershey's training camp before being sent back to San Diego.

The Gulls hit the road looking to extend their five-game winning streak with games in Anchorage Friday and Saturday nights. Both games begin at 8 p.m. (PST). All games can be heard live on 1130AM-KSDO and at www.ksdo.com with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play.
