Hodson Named ECHL Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Greensboro's Jamie Hodson is the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week for December 9-15.

The 22-year-old Hodson was 2-0 with a 1.63 goals against average and a .964 save percentage as the Generals went 2-0 and moved into second place in the Northeast Division. Hodson has won his last three starts going 3-0 with a 1.41 goals against average, and he is 4-1-0 with a 2.05 goals against average in his last five games.

Selected in the third round (69th overall) by Toronto in the 1998 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Hodson made 29 saves in a 3-1 win over Charlotte on Thursday and had 52 saves in a 5-2 win against Greenville on Friday. Hodson had 53 saves in a 6-3 win over Trenton on November 15, tying the ECHL season high for saves set by Columbus' Matus Kostur on November 9.

Under contract to the Maple Leafs, Hodson ranks third in the ECHL with a .939 save percentage and is 4-3-1 with a 2.39 goals against average in eight games with the Generals. He was 20-9-3 with a 3.01 goals against average in 36 regular season games and 0-1 with a 3.01 goals against average in one Kelly Cup Playoff game for South Carolina in 2001-02.
