Augusta Lynx News Release
The Augusta Lynx were on the road at the South Carolina Stingrays and at home against the Columbia Inferno. They defeated both teams, going 2-0-0 for the week, improving their record to 9-15-1 with 19 points. The Lynx remain 7th in the Southeast Division.
Friday, December 13th turned was not unlucky for the Augusta Lynx. They traveled to Charleston, SC and defeated the number one seed South Carolina Stingrays by a score of 4-1. The Rays' Trevor Johnson scored the first and only goal for South Carolina at the 1:33 mark of the first period. The Lynx would battle back late in the third period to tie the game with a goal by Jim Shepherd from Andrew Williamson and Patrick Yetman. The Lynx continued the assault on the Stingrays with three more goals scored by Williamson, Brad Ralph, and Mike Oliveira. Shepherd, Jason Shmyr, Oliveira, and John Campbell all picked up assists for the night. Lynx goaltender Curtis Cruickshank picked up his second win of the season, stopping twenty-four shots and allowing only one goal. Cruickshank, Shepherd, and Williamson were named the three stars of the game respectively.
The Columbia Inferno traveled to Augusta for the second time this season Saturday, December 14th only to lose 3-2 despite they outshooting the Lynx thirty-eight to twenty-four. Williamson opened the scoring early for the Lynx at the 2:58 mark of the first period. Shepherd and Jonathan Gauthier picked up the assists. Josh St. Louis would score next off a pass from Oliveira. Sergei Kuznetsov also tallied an assist on the goal. St. Louis scored again early in the third period to round out the scoring and secure the win for the Lynx. Kuznetsov and Mark Thompson were credited with the assists. Cruickshank picked up the win stopping thirty-eight shots and allowing two goals. St. Louis, Cruickshank, and Lance Galbraith were named the three stars of the game.
Player of the Week: Andrew Williamson tallied three points this week from two goals and one assist. Williamson has four points in four games from two goals and two assists.
Goaltender of the Week: Curtis Cruickshank allowed only three goals in two outings this weekend, making sixty-two saves for a Save Percentage of 0.954. He has a record of 3-1-0, a GAA of 2.50 and a Save Percentage of 0.932.

Monday, December 16: Hat Trick for Life School Assembly program at Craig Houghton Elementary School, 1:30 pm. Lynx team representatives will be present. Listen to the "Blue Line Report" on Fox Sports Radio 1340 with the Mac Daddy at 5:45. A Lynx player will be interviewed. "Behind the Bench Coach's Show" with Kyle Schultz and Head Coach David Wilkie beginning at 7 pm at Cadillac's Fine Food and Spirits located at the corner of Washington and Pleasant Home Roads.
Tuesday, December 17: The Lynx travel to Greenville, SC with a game time of 7:05 pm at the Bi-Lo Center to battle the fifth place Greenville Grrrowl.
Thursday, December 19: 5:45 pm, join the Mac Daddy on Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM for the "Blue Line Report." McNeil will have a Lynx player on the air. "The Locker Room Report" airs at 8:30 pm on Comcast Channel 4.
Friday, December 20: Join the Mac Daddy, Charles McNeil for the "Blue Line Report" on Fox Sports Radio 1340 AM at 5:45 pm. The Lynx will travel to Columbus, GA to battle the Columbus Cottonmouths. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Columbus Civic Center.
Saturday, December 21: The Lynx continue their road trip in Charleston, SC with a game time of 7:30 pm at the North Charleston Coliseum against the South Carolina Stingrays.
