Defenseman Branham Acquired from the Florida Everblades

Peoria, Ill. (March 22, 2005) – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie of the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL announced today that third-year defenseman Tim Branham has been acquired from the Florida Everblades in exchange for future and financial considerations.

Branham – a 6-foot, 205-pound native of Eagle River, Wis. – tallied one assist in 18 games with Florida after opening the season with the Texas Wildcatters, for whom he notched seven points (1g, 6a) in 21 games. The third round selection (93rd overall) of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft competed in 64 games in the American Hockey League (AHL) in his first two professional seasons (2002-2003, Saint John Flames & 2003-2004, Portland Pirates).

The Peoria Rivermen are a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues and a member of the ECHL – The Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Rivermen host the rival Johnstown Chiefs on Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23. Game time both nights is 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena. On Friday, March 25, the Rivermen host the Wheeling Nailers. Game time is 7:30 p.m. All fans will receive a subscription to the Sporting News. On Saturday, March 26, Peoria and Wheeling battle again. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Duffle Bag, courtesy of OSF – St. Francis Medical Center and the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
