Rooneem Assigned From Houston and Turon Recalled To St. John's

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced today that forward Mark Rooneem has been assigned to the Ice Pilots from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League and defenseman David Turon has been recalled to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.

Rooneem, who stands 6'2" and weighs 191 pounds, has played in one game for Houston this season and 57 games for Louisiana this year scoring 17 goals, 10 assists for 27 points and has picked up 72 penalty minutes.

Rooneem played in 123 games for Calgary in the WHL during the 2002-2004 seasons scoring 33 goals, 32 assists for 65 points picking up 164 penalty minutes and played in 181 games for Kamloops of the WHL during the 1999-2002 seasons scoring 29 goals, 40 assists for 69 points and pick! ed up 183 penalty minutes.

Rooneem was selected in the fourth round by the Los Angeles Kings and was the 115th overall player taken in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He is 22 years old from Hinton, Alberta and shoots left.

The Ice Pilots will play home to Victoria tonight at 7:05 p.m. It is Florida Lottery Second Chance Night. The Ice Pilots will also play home on Saturday night vs. Augusta at 7:05 p.m. It is IHOP Bunny Toss Night. Fans are encouraged to bring a stuffed animal bunny to the game and toss the bunny on the ice when the Ice Pilots score their first goal of the game. The bunnies will be distributed to local hospitals and schools in the Pensacola area. The Easter Bunny will be at the game for kids to have their picture taken with and the first 500 fans will receive IHOP player cards. The Ice Pilots will also play away games this week on Friday at Augusta at 6:35 p.m. central time and Sunday at Texas at 5:05 p.m.

Fans can purchase individual game tickets in perso! n at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com. For group tickets, season tickets and birthday parties, fans can call the Ice Pilots at 432-PUCK.

Fans who have purchased all 14 Kelly Cup home game playoff tickets can pick up their playoff tickets during regular business hours in the Ice Pilots office beginning Tuesday, April 5th and also at the Ice Pilots home game on Saturday, April 9th vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. at the customer service table behind section 107. No playoff tickets will be mailed.
