
Brust Named ECHL Saver of the Week

Reading, PA â The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that goaltender Barry Brust is the Reebok Hockey Saver of the Week from March 14 - 20.
Barry Brust joins Cody Rudkowsky as Royals goaltenders to be honored by the ECHL as the Reebok Hockey Saver of the Week. The Swan River, Manitoba native appeared in three games last week and compiled a record of 2-0-1 with a 0.95 goals against average and .973 save percentage. Brust allowed three goals on 86 shots during the week, including posting his fourth shutout of the season on St. Patty's Day versus the Dayton Bombers (4-0). The rookie goaltender has been red hot for Reading over the last month going unbeaten in 11 contests (9-0-2) with a goals against average of 1.22 and save percentage of .953 during that span. Under contract with the Los Angeles Kings, Brust has lowered his goals against average to 1.93 and increased his save percentage to .928 this season. His 1.93 GAA is second in the league behind Wheeling's Dany Sabourin, currently on recall to the Wilkes Barre/ Scranton Penguins (AHL). Overall, Brust has a record of 22-8-4 with Reading. Prior to turning pro, Brust spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Spokane and Calgary earning All Star honors in 2003 and 2004.
Reading and Toledo battle tomorrow in the Sovereign Center at 7:05 p.m. It's Reading Eagle Voices Night in the Sovereign Center with all top shelf seats $5 for students with a valid student ID. Reading hosts Dayton and Johnstown for the final time in the Sovereign Center on Thursday and Friday evening. The Royals finish the four-game week in Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey on Saturday, March 26.
