Reading Announces Series of Roster Moves at Trade Deadline

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that goaltender Matt Yeats has been activated off IR and traded to the Idaho Steelheads for future considerations. In addition, forward Paul Cabana has been recalled to Hershey of the American Hockey League and defenseman Jim Dube has been signed to a contract.

Goaltender Matt Yeats has been activated off the 7-day injured reserve and traded to the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads for future considerations. Yeats signed a contract with Reading on November 30, 2004. He appeared in 13 games with Reading and posted a n 8-2-2 record with a 2.38 goals against average and .918 save percentage. He posted one shutout in a Royals uniform on February 4 against Dayton (4-0). The Innisfail, Alberta native was placed on the seven-day injured list on February 22, 2004.

Forward Paul Cabana has appeared in 20 games for the Royals after being reassigned by the Hershey. Cabana netted four goals and five points with 12 penalty minutes. He began the season in Quad City of the United Hockey League. In 32 games with the Mallards, Cabana scored six goals and 17 points with 29 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound winger spent the last two seasons in Columbia of the ECHL and Manitoba of the AHL.

Dube returns to the Royals second tour of duty. He appeared in just three games with Reading in mid-January scoring no points and recorded a plus-1 plus/minus rating. The Ferris State University graduate also appeared in two games with Bakersfield and ironically faced the Royals in one of the two games he played in for the Condors. Dube is expected in the line up tonight and will wear sweater #9.

Reading and Toledo battle tomorrow in the Sovereign Center at 7:05 p.m. It's Reading Eagle Voices Night in the Sovereign Center with all top shelf seats $5 for students with a valid student ID. Reading hosts Dayton and Johnstown for the final time in the Sovereign Center on Thursday and Friday evening. The Royals finish the four-game week in Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey on Saturday, March 26.
