CHARLOTTE, NC - The Charlotte Checkers opened the season with two wins over the Wheeling Nailers and a combined score of 15-6. Dusty Jamieson recorded a hat trick in both of the wins and Mark Lee recorded eight points over the two nights. Chris Holt and Alex Westlund picked up wins in goal on Friday and Saturday night, respectively. The Checkers pushed their home-opener win streak to three seasons.

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-The Charlotte Checkers defeated the Wheeling Nailers 10-3 Friday night in the season opener in front of 9,245 fans at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Dusty Jamieson led the team in scoring with a hat trick and one assist while Bruce Graham chipped in scoring with two goals.
Saturday, October 21, 2006 vs. Wheeling, W, 5-3
The Charlotte Checkers defeated the Wheeling Nailers 5-3 Saturday night in the second game of their two-game series in front of 5,184 fans at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Dusty Jamieson led the scoring with his second hat trick in two consecutive games.
