February 28, 2026 - Sporting Kansas City II (0-1-0, 0 points) opened the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season with a defeat on the road against St Louis CITY2 (1-0-0, 3 points) on Saturday night at Energizer Park. Head coach Lee Tschantret made his debut on the touchline and had nine of the players he used to coach in Sporting KC's Academy available to him. All but one appeared in the match. Sporting KC II Opens 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Season at St Louis CITY2

February 27, 2026 - Sporting Kansas City II opens the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign on Saturday when they face St Louis CITY2 at Energizer Park in St. Louis, Missouri. The game is slated for 4 p.m. CT and can be streamed for free on the OneFootball app or at MLSNEXTPro.com. The two sides met on three occasions last year and are set to square off two more times in 2026. Sporting KC II Signs Nine Academy Standouts to Amateur Deals Ahead of Season Opener

February 27, 2026 - Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has signed nine Sporting Kansas City Academy players to MLS NEXT Pro amateur contracts ahead of the 2026 season opener against St Louis CITY2: goalkeeper: Kael Taylor, defenders Luca Antongirolami, Jack Francka, Zane Wantland and Nate Young, midfielders Carter Derksen and Makhi Francis and forwards Tomiwa Adewumi and Kashan Hines. Sporting KC II Signs Mitch Ferguson and Tega Ikoba to Professional Contracts

February 26, 2026 - Sporting Kansas City II announced today that the club has signed defender Mitch Ferguson and forward Tega Ikoba to MLS NEXT Pro professional contracts ahead of the team's season opener on Saturday. Ferguson is a former Sporting KC Academy player and Ikoba has logged almost 100 professional appearances across MLS, MLS NEXT Pro and the USL Championship.
