Jack LaFontaine Is ECHL Goaltender of the Week
January 5, 2026 - Jack LaFontaine is the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 29-Jan. 4. It is the third time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.
LaFontaine went 3-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .969 in three appearances Maine last week.
The 27-year-old turned aside 31 shots in a 3-1 win against Iowa on Wednesday, made 20 saves in a 3-2 victory over Fort Wayne on Friday and stopped all 42 shots in a 1-0 win at Tulsa on Sunday.

Comets Drop Shootout Decision to Ambush
January 4, 2026 - INDEPENDENCE, MO - The Kansas City Comets fell for a second straight time against the St. Louis Ambush, dropping a 7-6 result on Sunday in a shootout on home turf.
After turning a multi-goal deficit in the first quarter into numerous second-half leads, the Comets left Cable Dahmer Arena full of disappointment. Despite the defeat, the Comets took the season series 4-2.

KC Mavericks Defeat Fort Wayne, 2-1
January 3, 2026 - The Kansas City Mavericks secured a 2-1 overtime victory against the Fort Wayne Komets on January 3 at Cable Dahmer Arena, closing out the night with a strong defensive effort and timely scoring.
Fort Wayne opened the scoring late in the first period, but Kansas City responded just 22 seconds later when Jackson Jutting netted his 12th goal of the season, assisted by Landon McCallum and Marcus Crawford, sending the teams into intermission tied 1-1.

Comets Open Homestand with I-70 Series Finale
January 3, 2026 - The I-70 Series will draw to a close as the Kansas City Comets open a three-game homestand on Sunday afternoon on Silverstein Eye Centers Field when they host the St. Louis Ambush for Game 6 of the rivalry.
