Peoria's Jean-Guy Trudel Named SPHL Coach of the Year

April 19, 2018 - HUNTERSVILLE, NC - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Thursday announced that Jean-Guy Trudel of the Peoria Rivermen has been selected as the SPHL Coach of the Year in a vote of league coaches, general managers and media representatives. Macon's Kevin Kerr and Pensacola's Jeff Bes finished tied for second in the voting. Trudel led the Rivermen to a 38-13-5 record, capturing the William B. April 18, 2018 - Peoria, IL - The Peoria Rivermen scored six unanswered goals in the final 40 minutes of regulation Wednesday night as they cruised to a 6-1 series-opening win over the Knoxville Ice Bears. Brad Barone Named SPHL Goaltender of the Year

April 18, 2018 - ROANOKE, VA - The Southern Professional Hockey League announced on Wednesday that Rail Yard Dawgs goaltender Brad Barone has been named the league's 2017-18 Goaltender of the Year. Barone was selected in a vote of the league's coaches, general managers and media representatives. Barone appeared in 36 games with the Rail Yard Dawgs and went 15-15-2.
