Everett got on the scoreboard first Sunday night with Froese's 14th goal of the season. Froese took a hard slap shot from the top right circle that beat Spokane goaltender James Reid glove side. Kyle Beach tied the game at 1:52 of the second period with his 28th goal of the season. Spokane took their first lead of the game at 7:22 when Steve Kuhn scored his seventh goal of the year shorthanded. Kuhn raced into the Everett zone 2 on 1 before scoring five-hole and giving the Chiefs a 2-1 lead. Wahl scored Spokane's third goal of the night at 15:55. Wahl snuck backdoor before receiving a Beach pass for a tip-in and a 3-1 Spokane lead.
MacDonald cut Spokane's lead to one at 10:55 of the third period. Picking up a loose puck in the slot, MacDonald fired his second goal of the year top shelf, glove side past Reid on the power play. Everett tied the game at 17:55 when Ryan Murray blasted a wrist shot top shelf past Reid to tie the game, 3-3. The score was tied at the end of regulation sending the game into overtime.
Everett outshot Spokane 3-2 in overtime but couldn't find the back of the net sending the game into a shootout. MacDonald scored the game winning goal in the fourth round of the shootout to give Everett a 4-3 victory.
