WHL Deadline Deals Summary

Calgary, AB -- The 2010 Western Hockey League Trade Deadline has come and gone with a flurry of deals done before teh deadline.

Among the most significant was the one completed between Brandon and Moose Jaw that saw 19-year old all star defenceman Travis Hamonic go to the MasterCard Memorial Cup Host Wheat Kings. In return, the Warriors get 17-year old blueliner Dallas Ehrhardt, a first and second round draft choice in this year's WHL Bantam Draft as well as another second round selection in 2011.

Following is a summary of Sunday's other deals:

-Edmonton Oil Kings trade F Brett Breitkreuz (20) and F Thomas Vincour (19) to the Vancouver Giants for F Garry Nunn (20), F Mike Piluso (19), F Sebastian Svendsen (18), a 5th-round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft, a 3rd-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional 3rd-round pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Seattle Thunderbirds trade G Kyle Jahraus (19) to the Prince George Cougars for F Robbie Ciolfi (18).

-Lethbridge Hurricanes trade F Brent Henke (19) to the Vancouver Giants for a 5th-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Portland Winterhawks trade D Daniel Johnston (17), F Jacob Berglund (18) and a 1st-round pick in the 2010 CHL Import Draft to the Lethbridge Hurricanes for D Luca Sbisa (19), a 1st-round pick in the 2010 CHL Import Draft and a 5th-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Regina Pats trade D Matt Delahey (20) to the Chilliwack Bruins for D Mitch McColm (20).

-Kootenay Ice trade D Petr Senkerik (18) to the Prince George Cougars for a 5th-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Saskatoon Blades trade G Tyler Santos (15), a 3rd-round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft and a conditional 3rd-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft to the Prince George Cougars for F Marek Viedensky (19).

-Kelowna Rockets trade a 6th-round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft to the Prince Albert Raiders for F Sean Aschim (17).

-Kelowna Rockets trade D Curt Gogol (18) to the Saskatoon Blades for F Colton Scissons (16) and a 3rd-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Kelowna Rockets trade F Tyler Halliday (20) and a 3rd-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft to the Prince George Cougars for D Dallas Jackson (20).

-Kelowna Rockets trade F Kyle Verdino (18) to the Swift Current Broncos for a 5th-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Seattle Thunderbirds trade D Stefan Warg (19) to the Prince Albert Raiders for D Austin Frank and a 5th-round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Calgary Hitmen trade F Chase Schaber (18), D Austin Madaisky (17) and a conditional 3rd-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft to the Kamloops Blazers for F Tyler Shattock (19), F Jimmy Bubnick (18), D Zak Stebner (19) and a conditional 4th-round pick at the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.

-Swift Current Broncos trade F Mike Brown (19) to the Tri-City Americans for a 5th-round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft. A second round draft choice of the New York Islanders, Hamonic is expected to arrive in Brandon on Monday. A member of the National Junior Team that captured Silver last week in Saskatoon, the 6'2" 215 lb St. Malo, Manitoba product suffered a separated shoulder in the Semi-Finals of the World Junior Hockey Tournament and is expected to be sidelined for at least another month.
