Chiefs Reassign Leedahl
January 10, 2010 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release
The Spokane Chiefs have made one change to their roster, reassigning defenseman Garrett Leedahl to Humboldt of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, and did not make any other moves prior to the WHL's 2:00 PST trade deadline.
"Going into the trade deadline you always hope to improve your team but we could not do that this year without taking away from the core of this club," Chiefs General Manager Tim Speltz said. "We are very comfortable with our group and look forward to a successful second half of the season and playoffs."
The move leaves the Chiefs with 23 players; 14 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders.
Spokane will take the ice tonight at 5:00 against the Everett Silvertips in their third game in as many nights. Currently, the Chiefs and Silvertips are tied for fourth place in the Western Conference with 51 points apiece. Just 10 points separate the top five teams in the conference. The Chiefs have played one game fewer than Everett and will be playing their first of eight straight on the road.
Mike Boyle will go on the air at 4:30 with Comcast Hockey Tonight on 1510 KGA.
