T-Birds Trade Jahraus To Prince George

Kent, Janauary 10, 2010 - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell this afternoon announced the team has traded goalie Kyle Jahraus to the Prince George Cougars for center Robbie Ciolfi.

Ciolfi, an 18-year-old from Lethbridge, Alberta, has played in 23 games with the Cougars this season and has 10 points on four goals and six assists. Ciolfi is a right-handed shot who is 5'8 and 170-pounds.

Jahraus has appeared in five games this season with the T-Birds and has a 2-1-0-0 record with a 5.28 goals against average and a.850 save percentage. In his only start last season Jahraus made 27 saves in the last game of the year to shut out the Everett Silvertips.

The T-Birds have called up goalie Michael Salmon to replace Jahraus on the roster. Salmon started the season on the Cougars roster but was released. When he was released the T-Birds added him to their 50-player protected list. Salmon appeared in four games with the Cougars this season and had a 0-2-0- 0 record with a 6.95 goals against average and a.833 save percentage. Salmon is 17-years-old and is 6'1 and 166-pounds.

The T-Birds hit the road for two games in three days against the Tri-City Americans and the Toyota Center. They play Wednesday, January 13, and Friday, January 15. Both games are at 7:05 p.m. The T-Birds are back home at ShoWare Center on Saturday, January 16, to take on the Kamloops Blazers at 7:05 p.m.
