Cougars Make Trade With Kelowna, Acquire Halliday And Draft Pick For Jackson

Prince George, BC - Prince George Cougars General Manager Dallas Thompson announced Sunday the Cougars have acquired 20-year old forward Tyler Halliday and a third round pick in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft from the Kelowna Rockets. In exchange, the Cougars dealt 20-year old defenceman Dallas Jackson to the Rockets.

Halliday returns to the Cougars after being acquired by the Rockets in November. Halliday played a total of 85 games for the Cougars, including 19 at the start of the 2009-10 season. Halliday has seven goals and 10 assists in 40 games this season.

Jackson, who the Cougars acquired prior to the 2008-09 season, heads to Kelowna after playing a total of 86 games for the Cougars. Jackson was the Cougars leading scorer this year, with 11 goals and 29 points.

The Cougars thank Jackson for his service to the team both on and off the ice and wish him future success.
