Seattle Thunderbirds News Release

Kent,January 10, 2010 - Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell this afternoon announced the team has traded defenseman Stefan Warg to the Prince Albert Raiders for defenseman Austin Frank and a fifth round selection in the 2010 Bantam Draft.

Frank, a 16-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, is currently playing with the Calgary Buffaloes of the AMHL. Frank was a fifth round selection, 94th overall, in the 2008 Bantam Draft by the Raiders.

"We are excited to add Frank to our team for next year," said Farwell. "The chance to add a player with his kind of grit and determination was too attractive to pass up. We feel he will compliment the addition of Aasman nicely and improve our defense well into the future."

Warg is in his second season with the T-Birds and has 13 points, all on assists, with 53 penalty minutes. Warg was a fifth round selection, 143rd overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Draft.

The T-Birds hit the road for two games in three days against the Tri-City Americans and the Toyota Center. They play Wednesday, January 13, and Friday, January 15. Both games are at 7:05 p.m. The T-Birds are back home at ShoWare Center on Saturday, January 16, to take on the Kamloops Blazers at 7:05 p.m.
