Toledo Stopped by Kalamazoo 4-1

(Kalamazoo, MI) Troy Schwab picked up his 19th goal of the season but Toledo fell 4-1 Saturday night in Kalamazoo. Toledo has an overall record of 49-15-5-2 on the season and has a record of 24-9-3-0. The Walleye and Wings wrap up the regulation Sunday at the Huntington Center.

The Wings struck twice in the first period as a power play goal gave them a 1-0 lead at 9:50 followed by one at even strength at 11:32. It was more of the same in the second period from Kalamazoo as they beat Jeff Lerg twice more.

Toledo came close on a power play down 3-0 but couldn't find the back of the net. Jean Bourbeau beat Lerg with wrist shot at 12:46 after the Walleye power had expired. In the third period, Troy Schwab buried a pass from Cody Lampl at 14:05 for the lone Walleye goal, his 19th of the season.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg made 16 saves on the 20 Kalamazoo shots and his record is 32-9-2-1. Jake Paterson started the third period in goal for Toledo and stopped all seven shots he faced.
