Carey, O'Donoghue Recalled to Portland

DULUTH, Ga. - The Portland Pirates, AHL affiliate of the Gladiators, announced that forwards Greg Carey and Dan O'Donoghue have been recalled to Portland Saturday morning.

Carey, 25, leads the Gladiators in scoring with 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists in just 30 games played. The Hamilton, Ontario native began the season with the Pirates, and then was assigned to Gwinnett on three separate occasions. Carey also led the team in hat tricks this season with two (Nov. 9th and Jan. 23rd).

For O'Donoghue, 24, this is his third reassignment to Portland this year. In 23 games for the Gladiators, O'Donoghue has four goals and four assists, with two goals coming in the last two games. The native of Port Jefferson, NY has played in 19 games for the Pirates across two season with two penalty minutes to his name.

With Carey and O'Donoghue returning to Portland, Gwinnett only has one affiliated player on the roster to close out the season, goaltender Mike Lee. The Gladiators will wrap up the 2014-15 season with a 7:00 match against the Greenville Road Warriors tonight at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in upstate South Carolina.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league, and are affiliated with the Arizona Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth - where parking is always free.
