
Rush Represented in Thirteen Different Categories of 2010-11 'Best of the Best'

(Rapid City, SD) - On Tuesday morning, the Central Hockey League released the results of its annual "Best of the Best" poll, highlighting the top three individuals or organizations in 50 categories. The Rush were represented in thirteen different categories and voted #1 in five areas, including "Best Training/Equipment Staff" and "Best Ice".
Ryan Menei was voted the CHL's third best overall player. Through 59 games, Menei leads the Rush in goals (36), assists (43), points (79), rating (+25), powerplay goals (9) and powerplay points (21).
For the third consecutive season, Colt King was voted "Best Bodychecker" while coming up just short of a third straight "Best Power Forward" crown, finishing second this year.
Recently acquired David Simoes ran away with "Best Fighter (Pound for Pound)".
After finishing third last year, the duo of Osama Kassab and Romeo Vivit claimed the #1 spot in "Best Training/Equipment Staff".
Rush fans were once again honored for their commitment by finishing second in the "Best Fans" category. The fans have packed the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center for 13 sellouts this season and have averaged over 4,900 per home game. With that, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center was voted as the second toughest building to win in.
The Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Staff was recognized for their hard work, earning the distinction of "Best Ice Surface".
The Rush received second place rankings in the "Best Team Logo" and "Best Team Uniforms (Overall).
Sugar Ray Quinn finished second in the "Best PA Announcer" category.
For the second straight season, the Rush claimed the top spot in "Best Arena Music".
Finally, the Rapid City Rush Booster Club was voted the second best overall in the league.
The Rush take on a pair of new opponents this weekend when the Tulsa Oilers visit on Friday, March 11th and the Fort Wayne Komets enter the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center on Saturday, March 12th. Both games start at 7:05pm and tickets are still available.
