Fort Worth Brahmas News Release

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - To take down the Bloomington Prairie Thunder Tuesday night, an additional period was necessary as Texas won with :58 ticks remaining in the overtime for a 4-3 Brahmas win.

The first shot of the night found its way behind Wayne Savage as Aaron Dawson gave Bloomington an early 1-0 lead. Greg Hogeboom countered with a floater above Brad Phillips blocker for a tied game and his 33rd goal of the season. Amidst the excitement, Texas ‚¬â„¢ tough guy Mike Sgroi tangled up with Garrett Klotz in a round fisticuffs to keep the fans at the NYTEX Sports Centre animated. Hogeboom read the ice well when he set the table for grizzly defenseman Darryl McArthur for a Texas lead. Bloomington ‚¬â„¢s powerplay unit converted for the Prairie Thunders second goal of the game, with :33 seconds remaining on the job with a goal from Bill Bagron.

A loose puck hanging around Savage ‚¬â„¢s crease made its way onto the blade of John Snowden and past the goal line for the Prairie Thunder to regain the lead. Following a quick and rather uneventful final frame, Mick Lawrence evened the playing field, scoring the game tying goal to send the game into the extra period. With just :58 seconds left in the game and Texas on the powerplay, Chad Woollard netted the game winner for his league leading 40th goal of the season.

The Brahmas pick right back up to take on the Allen Americans Friday night for a 7:30 pm faceoff at the NYTEX Sports Centre. The following night Texas travels to Bossier-Shreveport to face the Mudbugs for a 7:05 game before heading back home for a Sunday matinee against the same ‚¬ËœBugs for a 4 pm start.
