Brahmas Lose Game Four, Eliminated from Playoffs

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - The Brahmas lost to the Wichita Thunder by the final score of 3-1 in game four of the best-of-seven, semi-final series, eliminating the team from post-season play.

After Wichita defenseman Andrew Martens had the only score through the first two period, Fort Worth evened the score early in the final frame. 12 seconds into the third period, Phil Fox beat Wichita netminder Torrie Jung with a wrist shot from the slot. For Fox, it was his third goal of the playoffs and first since game on of the opening round versus the Quad City Mallards.

At 7:58 of the third period, Ian Lowe scored the eventual game-winning goal as he put home a rebound off of Neil Trimm's initial wrist shot. Chad Painchaud added an empty-net goal with 27 second remaining in regulation to seal the victory and the series for the Thunder.

Jung made 28 saves on 29 shots to improve to 8-0 this postseason.

Kristofer Westblom stopped 21 of 23 shots in a losing effort.

Wichita went 2-for-3 on the power play, while the Brahmas were held scoreless on six opportunities with the man advantage.

With the loss, Fort Worth was eliminated from the CHL playoffs after reaching the semi-finals for the second consecutive season.

The Brahmas will host an end-of-season party Tuesday, April 23. More information will be available in the coming days.
