
PrairieThunder Coach Jason Christie Named "Best Coach" in CHL Poll

Bloomington PrairieThunder Head Coach Jason Christie has been named Best Coach in the Central Hockey League's annual "Best of the Best" poll which was released today. The poll is voted on by CHL players, coaches and operational staff from all eighteen CHL teams (each team submitted one completed ballot). The poll consists of 50 categories and each team provided three top choices for each category, with first place votes counting as five points, second place counting as three points and third place votes counting as one point.
The PrairieThunder and the U.S. Cellular Coliseum were named in five categories. Head Coach Jason Christie, who has led the team to a franchise record 32 victories, was named "Best Coach" in the poll. In addition the PrairieThunder team was named "Hardest Working Team". Forward Brett Holmberg was runner up in the "Best Defensive Forward" category and goaltender Marco Emond was also a runner up in the "Best Goaltender in Shootouts" category. Finally, congratulations to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum which was runner up to the Rushmore Plaza Arena in Rapid City for "Best Ice Surface".

PrairieThunder Playoff Ticket Packages & 2011-12 Season Tickets Now on Sale!
Playoff ticket packages for the upcoming Central Hockey League Playoffs (which begin at the end of the month) and 2011-12 PrairieThunder Season Tickets are now on sale. Call the PrairieThunder office during the week at 309-585-0507 for additional information or stop by the PrairieThunder information table during PrairieThunder home games. The CHL playoffs consist of four rounds. If Bloomington has home ice advantage in every round, the team could play a maximum of fourteen additional home playoff games.
PrairieThunder in the Community
The PrairieThunder will be participating in this coming Saturday's (March 12 th) "Sharing of the Green" parade in Uptown Normal. The parade begins at 10am and PrairieThunder mascot "Chip" and members of the Fox & Hounds "Foxy Ladies" will represent the team.

Bloomington PrairieThunder single game tickets are on sale at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum Box Office. Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Box Office Monday through Friday from 11am to 5:30pm and on weekends when there are events in the Coliseum.
