Prairiethunder Hockey Bids Bloomington-Normal Farewell
July 2, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bloomington PrairieThunder News Release
After three years of hard work to preserve and grow professional hockey in our community, hockey is indeed better today than it was three years ago. The 2010-11 Bloomington PrairieThunder organization has a lot to be proud of, including, posting the team's best record in franchise history, qualifying for playoff hockey for the first time, having the CHL MVP in the All-Star Game in Jason Dale, and having the CHL Coach of the Year in Jason Christie.
We hope the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, Coliseum management and League are entrusting the next chapter of Bloomington-Normal hockey to those who are qualified and committed and able to take professional hockey in our community to the next level. We look forward to hearing from the new ownership group and formulating a smooth transition into the upcoming 2011-12 hockey season.
