Royals Split Week Against Northwestern Division Opponents

The only battle between Reading and Dayton went to the Bombers 4-1 on Friday night in the Sovereign Center. Dayton was led by Andrew Ianiero who tallied a goal and three points in the Bomber win. Saturday, the Royals rebounded in Johnston winning for the first time in the Cambria County War Memorial 4-2. Brian McCullough and Brad Rooney led the way for Reading with two points apiece.

This week the Royals host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in the Sovereign Center on Friday night. Saturday, the Royals take to the road to do battle with the Richmond Renegades. Reading finishes up their sixth weekend of the regular season with a matinee game in Trenton against the Titans.

Friday, November 15 vs. Atlantic City Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: This is the third meeting between Reading and Atlantic City. The Royals have posted a 1-1-0 mark against the Bullies this season. Reading picked up their first win of the regular season against Atlantic City in Boardwalk Hall 3-2 in a shootout on October 23. Royals netminder Scott Fankhouser was magnificent stopping 38 shots in regulation and overtime and four of five shooters in the shootout. The Bullies and Royals will meet again four days from this game in Atlantic City.

Saturday, November 16 @ Richmond Richmond Coliseum 7:35PM

GAME NOTES: The Richmond Renegades beat the Reading Royals in the first meeting of the season in Reading on November 3. The 6-5 shootout win was the first victory for Richmond in the Sovereign Center in Reading. Richmond 's Lars Pettersen was the lone goal scorer in the shootout. Marc Magliarditi stopped 25 shots in regulation and overtime and all five shooters in the shootout.

Sunday, November 17 @ Trenton Sovereign Bank Arena 2:00PM

GAME NOTES: Despite dropping the first three games in this ten game regular season series, the Royals have bounced back to win the last two. The Royals won for the first time in Trenton with a 4-3 come-from-behind overtime decision on November 2. Reading and Trenton will not meet for nearly three months after this contest.

Friday, November 8 vs. Dayton Sovereign Center 7:05PM

GAME NOTES: The only meeting between the Royals and Bombers this season went to Dayton 4-1. Andrew Ianiero, in his first appearance of the season, tallied a goal and two assists to pace the Bombers. Torrey DiRoberto chipped in two goals, while Ben Knopp and Ryan Vince each had two helpers. The Royals are now 3-3-0 lifetime against Dayton.

Saturday, November 9 @ Johnstown War Memorial 7:30PM

GAME NOTES: The Royals did something last Saturday they were unable to do all of last season, win in Johnstown. Despite falling down 2-0 after the first period, Reading rallied for a 4-2 victory. Royals leading scorers Brian McCullough (1g, 1a) and Brad Rooney (2a) led the way for Reading who claimed their first win in the five-game regular season set. Kris Waltze chipped in his first goal of the season while Antoine Bergeron picked up his first professional assist.

Brad Rooney tallied three assists in two games for the Royals last week. The Royals second leading scorer added an assist on the Royals only goal in a loss to Dayton Friday night. Rooney chipped in two helpers on Saturday night in Johnstown to help the Royals claim their first-ever win in the historic Cambria County War Memorial. Rooney was even in both games for Reading.

Scott Fankhouser led the Royals to a 1-1-0 record this week. Fankhouser lost a 4-1 decision on Friday night to Dayton. Saturday in Johnstown, Fankhouser stopped 32 shots to post a 4-2 win. Overall Fankhouser improved to 7-4-0 this season.
