Wheeling's Valley Named East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Wheeling's Mike Valley is the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week for November 4-10.

Valley went 3-0-0 with a 1.95 goals against average and a .939 save percentage, improving to 5-6-1 with a 3.73 goals against average and a .900 save percentage. He helped the Nailers post back-to-back wins for the first time this season and improve to 6-9-1.

The 26-year-old Valley made 36 saves in a 4-1 win at Johnstown on Friday. On Saturday he made 29 saves in regulation and then stopped all four shooters in the shootout for a 3-2 shootout win at Roanoke. He closed out the weekend making 28 saves as Wheeling came-from-behind for a 4-3 win over Cincinnati on Sunday.

Valley leads the ECHL with 422 saves and is tied for the lead in shootout percentage with 1.000, stopping all nine shooters faced. He ranks second in the ECHL with 755 minutes and is tied for second with two shootout wins and six losses.

Runners-Up: Adam Hauser, Jackson (2 gp, 2-0, 1.02 GAA, .984 save pct.) and Doug Teskey, Toledo (2 gp, 3-0, 2.33 GAA, .910 save pct.)
