Louisiana IceGators News Release

Lafayette, LA – Louisiana IceGators captain Bruce Richardson has been loaned to AHL Milwaukee, IceGators head coach and vice president of hockey operations Dave Farrish announced Monday. The 25-year-old center will join the Admirals in time for Tuesday's game at San Antonio.

Richardson has 16 points (5g, 11a) and 81 penalty minutes in 13 games this season and is in the midst of a career-best seven-game point streak (3g, 8a). He is tied for second on the team in points and is third in assists.

The Admirals play four games in five nights beginning Tuesday, also visiting Houston on Thursday. Ironically, Richardson attended the Aeros training camp this season. Houston is the IceGators' AHL affiliate. Milwaukee also plays Friday at home against Chicago, and at Grand Rapids on Saturday. Milwaukee just lost former Arkansas RiverBlade Vern Fiddler to the NHL's Nashville Predators.

In 265 pro games, Richardson has recorded 128 points (45g, 83a) and 876 penalty minutes. He has seen action in 183 games at the AHL or IHL level, notching 50 points (19g, 31a) and 528 penalty minutes. Richardson's 16 points this season are one shy of what he had during the entire 2001-02 campaign, one he spent entirely in AHL Cincinnati.

The IceGators have two games this week, playing at Jackson on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. and at Pensacola on Friday at 7:05 p.m.
