BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to the Greenville Grrrowl, the defending Kelly Cup Champions, on Friday at the Wolves Den.

It's Game 2 of 12 head-to-head battles for Nextel Cup. The Sea Wolves lead the season series two points to none. Mississippi forward Cody Bowtell notched a goal and picked up two assists to lead the Sea Wolves to a 4-3 victory on October 13. Bandits Jeff Bes tallied two goals in the loss.
Saturday, Nov. 16 vs. Pensacola Ice Pilots â 7:35 p.m. â Mississippi Coast Coliseum

The Sea Wolves lead the season series 3-0. Mississippi won the last meeting on November 2 at Pensacola, 3-1. The last game at the Wolves Den, Mississippi outlasted the Ice Pilots, 3-2 in the shootout. Sea Wolves defenseman Jim Baxter has two goals and four assists and a plus-five rating against Pensacola. Mississippi captain Steffon Walby has registered two game-winning goals. The Ice Pilots have been led by Louis Dumont. He has one goal and four assists in the three head-to-head contests.

Player of the Week:
Forward Mike Scott tallied a goal and added an assist in the shootout defeat against Greenville. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Calgary, Alberta has points in two consecutive games (2g-1a). The 25-year-old was acquired in a trade with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies on October 29, in exchange for cash.
Goaltender of the Week:
Greg Gardner continues to be the workhorse for Mississippi, appearing in all 12 Sea Wolves games this season. The 6-foot, 190-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario made 36 saves on 39 shots, only to lose in the seventh round of the shootout against Greenville on Friday. Gardner is tied among East Coast Hockey League goaltenders with eight wins. Overall, he has compiled a record of 8-3-1, to go along with a 2.72 goals against average and .924 save percentage.

Injured Reserve:
Right Wing / Assistant Coach Steffon Walby and defenseman Austin Miller are on 7-day injured reserve.
Goaltender Mike Buckley along with defensemen David Cornacchia and Steve Bewley remain on the 30-day IR.
Streaking Sea Wolves:
Defenseman Jim Baxter has points in six straight games (4g-4a).
Right Wing Steffon Walby has a four-game point streak (3g-5a), and assists in four straight games (5a).
Center Cody Bowtell has points in two consecutive games (2g-2a).
Forward Mike Scott has a two-game point streak (2g-1a).
Approaching Milestone:
Coach Bob Woods needs just one win for 50 regular season victories in his career. Last season as a rookie behind the Sea Wolves bench, Woods guided Mississippi to a 41-26-5 record. This season, the Sea Wolves have a record of 8-3-1.
