Kingfish add Kiesman

November 11, 2002 - ECHL (ECHL)
Baton Rouge Kingfish News Release

The Baton Rouge Kingfish announced today that they have acquired center Mike Kiesman.

Kiesman began the season with the Peoria Riverman where he played 3 games and picked up an assists.

"Mike is a physical player who finishes his checks," said Kingfish head coach Cam Brown. "He's a smart and talented guy on the ice and an effective penalty killer."

Last season, the Prince Rupert, British Columbia native spent time with the Pensacola Ice Pilots, Roanoke Express and the Peoria Rivermen.

"He's been left out in the cold," said Brown. "Peoria had to let him go because of contracted players sent down from their affiliates."

The 6'2", 187 pound center accumulated 115 penalty minutes in 51 games last season in the ECHL.
