Everblades Earn Point Against Cottonmouths

The Florida Everblades were defeated 3-2 and 5-4 in overtime by the Columbus Cottonmouths this past Friday and Saturday night at TECO Arena and moved into sixth place in the Southeast Division Standings. The Everblades take on the Augusta Lynx on Friday and Saturday night at TECO Arena. Both contests begin at 7:30 PM. All 72 regular season games can be heard on Sportsradio 770 AM, NewsRadio 1660 AM and on the Internet at www.floridaeverblades.com with the "Voice of the Everblades" Mark Miller calling the play-by-play. Listen to 'The Gerry Fleming Coaches Show' presented by Stevie Tomato's Sportspage each Monday on Sportsradio 770 AM from 6:30-7:30 PM. Tonight's show will be live on remote at the Naples location.

UP NEXT AT TECO ARENA: On Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th the Everblades battle the Augusta Lynx at TECO Arena. Both games begin at 7:30 PM. Saturday night is scout night and fans are encouraged to bring a box of macaroni or pasta to use as a noisemaker. The boxes will then be collected at the end of the night and donated to the Harry Chapin Food Bank. On November 18-20 the Impact World Tour visits TECO Arena. Friday, November 15th vs. Augusta 7:30 PM/EST

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Lynx will meet for the third time this season. The Everblades defeated the Lynx 5-2 in Augusta on October 11th and fell 3-2 in a shootout on October 12th. Augusta currently ranks 7th in the Southeast Division standings while Florida ranks in 6th place. Florida holds a 22-4-3 record all-time against the Lynx and a 12-2-0 record at TECO Arena. Last season, Florida went 6-2-0 against Augusta and were 3-1-0 at TECO Arena. Lynx forward Jim Shephard leads Lynx in scoring with 3-5-8 in 12 games played. Florida goaltender Rob Zepp is currently ranked fourth in the ECHL in goals against average with 2.10. The Lynx power play ranks 26th and their penalty kill ranks 27th . The Everblades power play currently ranks 21st in the ECHL and their penalty kill ranks 15th.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades and Lynx meet in the second of a pair of weekend games at TECO Arena.

Friday, November 8th vs. Columbus 2-3 L The Florida Everblades (4-4-3) fell to the Columbus Cottonmouths (6-3-1) 3-2 in front of 5,740 at TECO Arena on Friday night. Columbus forward Brent Cullaton had a hat trick and scored the game winning goal with :29 seconds remaining in the game.

Saturday, November 9th vs. Columbus 4-5 OTL

The Florida Everblades (4-4-4) fell to the Columbus Cottonmouths (7-3-1) in overtime 5-4 in front of 6,828 at TECO Arena on Saturday night. Columbus forward Brent Cullaton had two goals including the game winning goal with :10 seconds remaining in the overtime frame.

ECHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL player of the week nomination is defenseman Ed Hill. The Newburyport, Massachusetts native registered a goal in the Everblades 3-2 loss to Columbus on Friday night and two assists in the 5-4 OT loss on Saturday night. Hill was also +2 on the weekend. For his efforts on Friday night he was awarded the second star of the game.

ECHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION: The Everblades ECHL goaltender of the week nomination is Rob Zepp. The Newmarket, Ontario native was 0-1-1 this past week. Zepp is ranked fourth in the ECHL in goals against average with 2.10.

EVERBLADES IN THE COMMUNITY: On Tuesday, November 12th Vince Williams and Peter Reynolds will be speaking to students at Lehigh Acres Middle School at 2:15 PM. Also on Tuesday, November 12th Everblades mascot Swampee and two players will be speaking at Colonial Elementary at 12:45 PM. On Wednesday, Swampee and an Everblades player will be at the Hess Express gas station on the corner of Alico Road and 41 from 7-9 AM. On Friday November 15th Everblades head coach Gerry Fleming and Swampee will be at the Hess Express gas station on Cypress Lake Road from 7-9 AM.
