Rays Look to Extend Home Winning Streak Tonight against Augusta

South Carolina is looking for its eighth consecutive victory at home, which would be the most since winning eight straight from Dec. 20, 2006-Feb. 11, 2007 ... Augusta has won an ECHL-high 16 home games this season, but just five on the road ... Slattengren, recently sent back to Augusta from the AHL's Manitoba Moose, is tied for the ECHL lead with 27 goals ... Morin leads the ECHL with four short-handed goals ... The Stingrays have been outshot 365-327 in the 3rd period this season, but have outscored their opponents 46-25 ... Augusta C Igor Pohanka was shipped to Anaheim as part of a seven-player trade that saw former NHL All-Stars Jeff Friesen and Oleg Tverdovsky come to the New Jersey Devils in July 2002 ... Since turning pro in 1997-98, Peters, the older brother of Buffalo Sabres enforcer Andrew Peters, has skated in the AHL (Portland, Norfolk, Rochester, Milwaukee), IHL (Indianapolis, Cleveland), ECHL (Columbus, Trenton, Reading, Augusta), and BISL (Manchester) ... Ferguson is in his 26th season as a head coach.

Last Time Out

The Stingrays defeated the Texas Wildcatters 4-2 Sunday night in Beaumont, TX, snapping the Wildcatters' ECHL-record 23-game point streak. Travis Morin collected two points, including a short-handed goal which stood as the game-winner, and Josh Johnson made 39 saves as South Carolina took two of three games over the weekend against Texas. Augusta, meanwhile, defeated Mississippi 4-1 Saturday evening at home.
