Checkers Make Pit Stop At Trade And Tryon

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers are fueling up for the team's second annual Race Night by making a pit stop at the corner of Trade and Tryon this Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

On hand at Trade and Tryon will be the team's Zamboni as well as cars from Enterprise, Autotrader.com, the pace car from Lowe's Motor Speedway, and a show car from Andretti Gordon School of Racing. Also, The Pit Indoor Kart Racing will have two racing vehicles on display at the corner.

Race Night is an annual event that is presented by Autotrader.com. The night helps raise funds for Victory Junction Gang and the Hendrick Marrow Program. The night also features a marrow donor drive where fans can sign up to be on the national marrow donor registry.

Included in the festivities, the Checkers and Autotrader.com will be raffling off an exclusive golf car. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased at Trade and Tryon or at Checkers games. The winner of the raffle will be announced during the game on Friday night.

The Checkers began their 15th season of play as a member of the ECHL. The next home game takes place on Jan. 17 against the Gwinnett Gladiators. In the team's 14-year history, the Checkers have made the playoffs 10 times including three consecutive playoff appearances to date. The Checkers are in their third season of play at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena. Season tickets are on sale now with full-season packages starting at just $175.
