Salmon Kings Add Blueliner

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they have signed free agent defenseman Chris Shaw.

The Surrey, BC native most recently played for the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). In 2006-07 the 6-3, 230lbs Shaw suited up in three leagues with four different teams. He played in the CHL (Elmira Jackals), the UHL (Tulsa Oilers) and the SPHL (Richmond Renegades and Huntsville Havoc).

Shaw began his professional career in 2003-04, playing for the Corpus Christi Rays of the CHL.

He also played two seasons (1999-2001) in the BCHL with the Victoria Salsa and with the Burnaby Bulldogs.

Victoria returns home on Tuesday to take on the Bakersfield Condors. It is the start of a five game in six day home stand for the Salmon Kings. It begins with a two game set versus Bakersfield, and then the Fresno Falcons come to the capital city for three games beginning on Friday evening. Call 220-7889 for tickets.
